个人简介：
本人长期致力于喀斯特地区脊椎动物的系统演化与适应性的研究，围绕着喀斯特地区洞穴鱼类、两栖类、翼手目、灵长类、啮齿目等脊椎动物类群在喀斯特地区地质历史变化中的物种形成、分化以及适应辐射等进化生物学和保护生物学进行研究，发现并描述洞穴鱼类新物种和翼手目新物种近20余种，描述国家新记录和省级新记录脊椎动物物种近30余种。
担任中华人民共和国濒危物种科学委员会委员、中国动物学会理事、中国灵长类学分会副理事长、中国兽类学分会常务理事、中国生态学会动物生态学专业委员会常务理事、中国保护生物学分会理事、中国野生动植物保护协会科技委员会委员、国家自然科学基金委员会生命科学学部函评及会评专家、IUCN物种生存委员会委员。兼任Zoological Research、Zoological Research: Diversity and Conservation、Diversity Animals、Research In Ecology、兽类学报、贵州师范大学学报（自然科学版）编委。
